Frequently Asked Questions

Event Design

When should I reach out to book my wedding day of stationery?

Christine Kirby Studios recommends reaching out about 2-4 months before your wedding day, depending on the day of stationery you’re looking to include. For escort cards, place cards, and seating charts: I won’t have my final guest numbers until two weeks before my wedding. Can I reach out now for day of items? The sooner, the better. Let’s start chatting at least 2 months before your wedding day so your guest stationery items can be specially designed to fit seamlessly into your design.

I'm looking for signs for my wedding day. When should I reach out? What type of signage do you offer?

It all depends on the type of signs you’re looking for your day. Signs can range from hand-drawn calligraphy on coordinating paper colors to printed on acrylic or mirror (I’ve even worked a seating chart on a reclaimed window!). Christine Kirby Studios does not have a warehouse of sign materials on hand, but coordinating materials can be sourced. Let’s start chatting about 4 months before your wedding day.

How much will shipping be?

If you’re local and interested in doing a pickup (or want to send a trusted bridesmaid or mother of the groom!), we can arrange for that. Christine Kirby Studios is located in the Horizon West area of Winter Garden, Florida. If you’re not local to the Orlando, Florida area, expedited shipping will need to be arranged to ensure your stationery items arrive in time. Shipping can be a little unreliable, so let’s work to avoid that stressor by designing and shipping as early as possible.

What about custom signature drink signs?

You got it! You can jump over to complete the signature drink questionnaire. Those are offered as art prints or canvas prints. Want one on acrylic or a mirror instead? It would be my honor to create that for you. Let’s chat!

Custom Wedding Invitation Suites

When should I reach out to you for Wedding Invitations?

Christine Kirby Studios recommends beginning your design process 4 months in advance from when you plan to mail out your invitations and/or 3 months in advance from mailing out your Save the Dates.

Can I reach out to start planning my stationery if I don’t have all my details finalized yet?

Certainly! The earlier you being your process with Christine Kirby Studios, the better. We can begin working through sketches with placeholder information, and fill in the blanks prior to printing.

How many Invitations should I plan on ordering?

You will want to account for last minute additions to your guest list as well as reserving suites for your wedding day details photography, for your memory book, and for your parents. Christine Kirby Studios recommends about 10 extras.

Can you address my envelopes if I ordered my invitations somewhere else?

Sure can. As you are planning your stationery, a higher paper weight is recommended to accommodate the ink (a minimum of 90# paper). If you would prefer, Christine Kirby Studios can also procure envelopes on your behalf.

Are there minimums for ordering?

Micro-weddings and elopements are big trends right now and Christine Kirby Studios would love to be a part of your special day, no matter how big or small of an affair it’ll be. At this time, the printers used do have a minimum print order of 25, but we can work together to create the wedding stationery of your dreams. Send me a message to get started!

Can you design our stationery so we can print elsewhere?

Just like you want your day to be perfect, Christine Kirby Studios wants your custom wedding stationery to look its best. As such, digital print files are not included but will be sent to the printer directly and on your behalf.

How much should I anticipate spending on shipping?

Shipping from Christine Kirby Studios to your desired address of receipt will be calculated and invoiced at the time of shipping. Domestic shipping runs from $20.00-$75.00 and will be shipped to you on the most economical route possible.

How many stamps should I order?

The going rates for the USPS change, and even local scales can differ slightly. Final stationery weight is not guaranteed. Christine Kirby Studios suggests waiting until your stationery is printed before purchasing your postage.

 Collection Invitations

Are the colors customizable?

Yes, we will work together to curate a color palette for your invitation suite based on your weddng.

How far in advance should I place my order?

Semi Custom suites take between 3 to 6 weeks, depending on availibility and embellishments selected. I recommend beginning your order as soon as possible to ensure your invitations are ready. You can use the below timeline, based on your wedding month:

January Order in September / Mail in November

February Order in October / Mail in December

March Order in November / Mail in January

April Order in December / Mail in February

May Order in January / Mail in March

June Order in February / Mail in April

July Order in March / Mail in May

August Order in April / Mail in June

September Order in May / Mail in July

October Order in June / Mail in August

November Order in July / Mail in September

December Order in August / Mail in October

How many invitations should I order?

Invitations should be counted as 'one per household' rather than 'one per individual.' I recommend adding in 7 invitations to your total: one for your photographer, one for your keepsake, one each for your parents, and three for any last minute additions. Once your order has been placed, the quantity cannot be changed without incurring an additional change fee.

How do I submit the addresses for my envelopes?

You will be provided a template for your guest addresses. Once it is completed, you can email to christine@christinekirbystudios.com. Please aim to have this completed within 5 business days from your order.

Some of my guests' addresses were incorrect, what should I do?

Mistakes happen. If the mistake was on me, I'll readdress the envelope(s) and ship to you at no additional cost. If the address was given to you incorrectly (bad information happens too!), unfortunately the readdressing and shipping costs will be your responsibility.

Can my order be rushed?

Orders can be rushed, depending on availibility. Please reach out as soon as possible to determine if your desired date is availaible. There will be an additional fee for rush orders.

Are there also day-of stationery items?

You got it! When you're ready to chat about day-of stationery (seating charts, escort cards, menus, thank you cards, etc.) please send an email and I'll be delighted to provide you with a digital mock-up to coordinate your invitations.

Save the Dates

When should I reach out to book our Save the Dates?

Save the Dates should be mailed out between 9-12 months before your wedding date if you're planning a destination wedding. For weddings where most guests are local, you can send them out 6 months before your wedding date. It'll give your guests enough time to schedule flights, hotel accommodations, and get their time off on the calendar. Christine Kirby Studios recommends reaching out about 2-4 months before you want to mail your Save the Dates (between 11-14 months before your wedding date).

What kind of custom elements do you create?

Christine Kirby Studios specializes in watercolor, venue illustrations, and calligraphy. You can send images of your venue, your wedding florals, your beloved pet, and more to create custom, hand-painted watercolor portraits or sketches. Additionally, custom crests and logos, watercolor florals, greenery, and other patterns can be created to personalize your stationery. With decades of design experience, Christine Kirby Studios takes pride in being able to achieve a wide variety of aesthetics and styles. The only item we do not create is watercolor portraits of couples.

Whate does the design process look like?

The first step is for you to send us an inquiry form, which will consist of input from you such as your wedding date, the number of Save the Dates, your design inspiration, and other pertinent information about your wedding. You'll then receive an email with details about the process, and ballpark pricing. If the process, timeline, and pricing look like a good fit to you, it’s time to book a video call or an in-person meeting where we'll discuss your wedding, what your stationery needs are, and how Christine Kirby Studios can help make that vision come to life. After the call, you'll receive a formal quote, your design timeline, a link for your deposit, the design contract, wedding forms to gather all your information, and instructions for sending any details we need to create your custom design. With a design vision in mind, I'll create and send you digital mockups. After any comments from you are incorporated, you'll receive a digital final proof, pay the final invoice and send us your final address list, the production process begins. Production typically takes three weeks, though some times of the year may require a longer production timeline. During these three weeks, your invitations will be printed, envelopes addressed, and everything is fully assembled in your suite. Your suites are then securely packaged up and sent to you. All you need to do is take them to your local post office to be weighed and stamped. (If you prefer, Christine Kirby Studios does offer a send-out service if that’s something you’d like to skip as well.)

Can you design any other stationery items we might need?

Absolutely! If you decide to work with Christine Kirby Studios for your Save the Dates, the custom design elements can be incorporated into your invitations and day-of items for a cohesive wedding.

What will Save the Dates cost?

A set of 100 Save the Dates can run between $500.00 and $3000.00 depending on the design, embellishments, and addressing. The most popular option averages about $800.00.

I'm not local to Central Florida. Can I still work with you?

The best part about working with Christine Kirby Studios, is that you don't have to be located in Central Florida to work with me. Although I enjoy the opportunity to meet with couples in person, the majority are not local. I’ve perfected our e-process which utilizes video calls and email. The design process begins with a video meeting. Subsequent designs will be sent electronically for your review and approval.

Can I send you my own artwork?

It is great to see what inspires you or what you like BUT Christine Kirby Studios will not replicate another designer's or artit's work.

Can you personalize a design you've created for someone else?

Certainly. We can even mix and match elements from other previous designs to customize the look of your Save the Date. Please note: if any elements need to be repainted or redrawn, it will be considered a fully custom design.

Can you create digital files for me to print myself and/or to send to my guests digitally?

Christine Kirby Studios believes that a physical paper Save the Date is a big part of what makes your stationery amazing. The only way to ensure a great final product is by overseeing the process from start to finish, from the design and production to the final assembly. Therefore, digital designs do not fit into our business model or your guest experience. If you’d like an element of your design (such as your monogram) you'd like to use on your website, please let me know so we can include the licensing of those elements.
