A Fond Farewell to 2020

What can I say, 2020 has been a year! I remember getting ready to begin 2020. I had my dreams and goals for the year. I decided that I was going to study for my interior design certification (consisting of three expensive tests). I was ready to show my team that I could lead and manage a project. I was going to find a way to make more time for my family. Little did I know that the world had different plans for me. Sadly, I had to say goodbye to my dream job working as an interior design manager at Universal Creative and the wonderful Hotels team I was a part of. I got to teach the remainder of first grade to my daughter. In the midst of feeling the loss of my job and the jobs of many of my Universal Studios Orlando friends, I decided to shift my goals and my mindset into something positive, something productive, something I could create.

A few years back, I owned my own wedding calligraphy studio, Carousel Atelier Calligraphy. I loved creating custom calligraphy pieces for weddings, both inside the Orlando area and all over the United States. I offered watercolor as a compliment to my calligraphy stationery. This past summer, my creative muse was calling me to more than just wedding calligraphy, so I followed her. One of my awesome friends shared with me the chance to get a logo designed. And so was the start of Christine Kirby Studios.

My goals for Christine Kirby Studios are to bring my romantic, classic art style to weddings, bespoke commissions, and art licensed stationery and surface pattern designs. I have big goals, because that’s the only way I live my life. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I have plans to grow over the next few years. I’m thrilled to take you along this journey with me.

Currently, if you’re looking for my art, you can find them in the following online shops. Additionally, I do have openings in my calendar for custom commissions as well as availability for wedding stationery and calligraphy envelope addressing clients.

For art prints
For mugs, stickers, bags, and more
For fabric designs

So with that introduction, I’m Christine and I look forward to sharing my art and knowledge with you. And here’s to a wonderful 2021!
